Mutelands. The dead hunt by sound.

Zombie survival for Android · Closed beta

Six years after the Ringing, the dead walk blind and listening. Every step, door, axe blow and gunshot makes noise, and noise brings them. Scavenge the ruins, craft what you need, build a Haven on an abandoned plot and trade with the last walled settlements. Stay quiet and you stay alive.

How you stay alive

Sound is the threat

  • Every action makes noise. Rings on the ground show how far it carries.
  • The dead go where a sound was made, call each other and hunt what they see.
  • Throw a can or set off a lure to pull them away, or fight loud and face the horde.

Survive

  • Watch your health, hunger, thirst, stamina, bleeding and fever.
  • Fight with melee weapons, bows, a crossbow, firearms, throwables and traps, each with its own noise.
  • When you die, your pack stays where you fell, so you can go back for it.

Craft and build

  • Gather wood, stone, fiber, ore and scrap, and craft by hand or at your stations.
  • Build walls, doors, storage, workbenches and forges on your own plot.
  • Repair your gear instead of losing it. Grow a garden and keep hens.

Explore and trade

  • Twelve places, from a pine forest and a gas stop to an overgrown town, a police station and a military warehouse.
  • Three settlements with traders, a daily wanted board and a reputation that grows.
  • Travel costs in-game time, food and water. No energy timers.

A story told over the radio

  • Chapter 1, The Quiet Road: 14 story quests against the Rattlers, raiders who herd the dead with bells.
  • Side quests, radio messages, notes and postcards that tell what happened to the valley.
  • The Ledger’s three daily tasks, and the Almanac: a season of rewards with a full free track.

Fair by design

  • Single player. Playable offline, no account needed.
  • Purchases are looks, conveniences and support. Weapons, supplies, storage and progress are never for sale. No loot boxes.
  • Ads are rewarded videos you choose to watch. No banners, no ads that interrupt play.
